While many people today use iTunes for their digital music collections, many do not use all of the tools associated with the software. Even though there are a plethora of great tutorials online, many people only use iTunes for basic tasks. Apple continuously updates the iTunes software, so anyone interested in the technical aspects of the program should be interested. While some people relish these new updates and upgrades, most miss out on the great new features added to iTunes. There are many new features to iTunes that make it a significantly better program.

It is very easy to organize your files using iTunes. You can use the "organize files" feature from your library to do so. You can then select the "advanced" button to help bring those files into your iTunes library. You can then use the copy option to bring all of the files into your iTunes media folder. One perk to this is that all of your media files will now be backed up within another program. Not all people like having everything backed up on their computer, but if you are interested in doing this, iTunes is great for it.

There are a few different ways to organize your files within iTunes as well. They way that you organize things on your computer is unique to you, so make sure that it is something you are comfortable with all of the time. Some people choose to sort all songs of a specific genre into one folder. There are also those who sort things by the artist so that they can easily find all of that particular person or band's work very quickly using iTunes. Playlists are another way that some people sort their music out. A playlist is a group of songs that you have selected because of a specific preference that you had to them and put them all in one folder.

When you have a few songs that you want to make into a playlist, just drag them over to the playlist folder that you have created specifically for those songs. You can also burn these playlists of songs onto a compact disc. Burning these songs onto compact discs using iTunes has advantages because you can then listen to them anywhere that you have a CD player.

The iTunes software has opened many doors for online radio stations to have specific online content. It is now possible to listen to your favorite radio programs and stations on iTunes no matter where you are and what time it is. All you have to do is click the "radio" feature in the menu of iTunes and select whatever station that you desire.
